Hi, I'm Matt Wilson, owner of Telluride Welding.
I started Telluride Welding in 2019 with a simple goal: build custom metalwork I'm proud to put my name on. As a one-man fabrication shop, every project is designed, built, and installed by me — when you call, you're speaking directly with the person who will build your project from start to finish.
I specialize in custom architectural metalwork for residential homes throughout Telluride, Mountain Village, and the surrounding areas — floating stair systems, steel stringers, railings, gates, structural steel, and one-of-a-kind fabricated pieces designed for high-end mountain homes.
Using Autodesk Fusion 360, I build detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings before cutting steel. That design-first approach lets me solve problems early, communicate clearly with homeowners, builders, architects, and engineers, and make sure every piece fits exactly as intended.
Before fabrication, I spent over 30 years leading outdoor expeditions — guiding rivers around the world, running my own rafting company, and working as a ski patroller. Those years taught me preparation, precision, and doing things right the first time, and I bring the same standard to every weld today.
Great fabrication is about more than making steel fit together — it's understanding a client's vision, catching the smallest details, and delivering work that looks as good as it performs. Whether I'm building a floating staircase or a custom architectural feature, the goal is the same: clean, precise craftsmanship that lasts for generations.
I look forward to helping bring your project to life.
